Alfani Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Macy's (originally R. H. Macy & Co.) is an American department store chain founded in 1858 by Rowland Hussey Macy. It became a division of the Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores in 1994, through which it is affiliated with the Bloomingdale's department store chain; the holding company was renamed Macy's, Inc. in 2007. As of 2015, Macy's was the largest U.S. department store company by retail sales. As of May 2, 2020, there were 552 stores (614 boxes), including 11 flagships (16 boxes) and 384 magnets (430 boxes), for a total of 395 core stores (446 boxes), and 97 neighborhood stores (103 boxes, for a total of 550 full-line stores), 50 furniture galleries (55 boxes), 3 furniture clearance centers, 6 freestanding Backstage stores and 1 Market by Macy's with the Macy's nameplate in operation throughout the United States.[1][3] Its flagship store is located at Herald Square in the Manhattan borough of New York City. The company had 130,000 employees and earned annual revenue of $24.8 billion as of 2017.

Alfani offers head-to-toe dressing that translates from day to night, for any occasion. It is the modern, wear-to-work brand for the style-conscious woman and man. Offering both elevated investment pieces and core staples for everyday wear, Alfani offers a perfect solution to the career-minded customer.

Book author, Franz Rivoira talks about the quality of  ALFANI in a review written for QUORA: “From what I can see, Alfani is a cheap shot at establishing a wannabe Italian-sounding clothing brand. It is just an exercise in branding. The quality could be good or not, but I mean - the brand has no kind of cultural or historical heritage to communicate apart from an Italian-sounding name attached to clothing which is not Italian at all. As a note, apart from its obvious assonance with “Armani”, it reminds closely of “Alfano” - Angelino Alfano, Italian politician and Minister, recently in the news because of a scandal about his brother getting hired in the State-owned Post Office service as a Director (with a 200k Euro salary and … Ehm … scant qualifications). So, also a poor choice as a reference, too. I suggest Macy’s marketing team do some more research next time”

Tell the world why Alfani sucks!

Furniture & Mattress Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"Bad pay, bad benefits, basically bare minimum, best part is the cultural aspect and they try to be diverse. Advancement is to the people who are kiss up to management. If you stick to yourself you won't go anywhere if your numbers look good, as usual it's a business, you aren't what they care about, money is what they care about."

Merchandiser/Sales (Former Employee) says

"I would not ever go back to this company. Long hour and unappreciated. No structure and did not enjoy being part of management. The upper management team was not friendly at all but promotes friendliness to its lower level employees at any cost. Do not do itDo not do it"

Shop Captain (Current Employee) says

"Many of the managers at Macy’s are very rude & lazy. It shows in how last act looks down to how many people call off a day. Just horrible! I worked so many hrs with little pay. The hrs standing on my feet & helping customers who were so ungrateful."

Sales Manager (Former Employee) says

"Company didn’t care what kind of sacrifices I did to get to my position and drove the best results ! I was discriminated they lay me off saying my position is cut ans give it to MTM which there position is cut not mine ! So basically I felt like I was sacrificed ! They haven’t even offer me a position those people who work in Macy’s for over 20 years are only looking for them selves and protecting their jobs they can take anyone ok their way if they felt that their job is threatened !! They cut me and which I have seniority and experience and left a new sales manager has no history of any results . It’s a mess . I don’t know who watch over them if they did the right thing ! Who audit their decision"

Digital Merchandise Assistant (Former Employee) says

"Management, meetings, lack of time to do anything other than what your manager/ director wants you to do. They have no idea what really goes on but think they do. They do not tell you about an assessment you need to take in order to move up in your career. They do not prepare you either. You're supposed to read their minds on what they think of your progress is for the assessment. Once it comes around they tell you that day that you are not ready for it. Being a DMA you are at the very bottom and have to fight to be in another role. I have goals in my life i wasn't going to let my manager and director dictate my life. Meanwhile the two of them have no actual experience in the industry only with macy's. No fashion schooling either. Just a random degree. Theres no exit interview either. Just a sad measly card. After almost 2 years you're just a body at Macy's nothing more. My manager was a mouth piece and my director thought she knew everything but knew nothing. They want to hold you back because you're a threat to them. It is not run right and it is not fair. Best decision i made leaving that place. It is not the company itself it is the people who run it.Wfh, Summer FridaysManagement, A million and 5 meetings a day, Keeping you in the same position when you're ready to move"

Retail Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"They don't appreciate you in that company. They hardly have hours. You kill yourself working and doing the most you can and they still complain that you are not quick enough. You try to tell them that you need help from other associates, they say they don't have any body to send you yet they say you never ask them for help. They expect you to do the job of like 10 different people and the pay sucks. Definitely not worth working with that company."

merchandising/signing associate (Current Employee) says

"Macy Is not flexible with shifts and you have to pick up shifts in other departments which you are really familiar with. Sometimes there are no shift available in your department for over a week.Very very low salaryNone"

Business Manager (Former Employee) says

"There are good people that care. Some managers that were so great to work for left the company. The corporate structure is very unfriendly. I had manages walk right by me and never say hello and clearly they knew I was an employee by the badge I wore. I met my goals and even exceeded these. Point system, traffic causes unexpected delays, tardiness is strike against employee, several strikes and employee is fired, many great co-workers were fired, no respect for my training as licensed aesthetician."

Customer Service (Former Employee) says

"Everything about working for Macy’s was a disaster. The management was extremely rude and disrespectful. Horrible work environment. The pay is not worth the responsibilities you take on.NoneEverything"

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"They only care about corporate. They forget that the sales associates keep the store up and running. They also forget that their associates have a life outside of Macy's. Like children for example. The pay is good, vacation pay, 401 k ect. But the headache is up to you.Good pay, 401k ectNo consideration for their employees"

Macy's Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"No good company to work for I worked there for over 7 yrs and eliminated my position and laid me off. There is no growth there whatsoever! Horrible oh and if your flex and you get laid off or don’t accumulate PTO you can kiss your all your sick safe ca time you had goodbye you don’t get paid out!!!!! Now I wished I would have called out every shift just to get my paid sick time I had over 60 hrs of sick time!!!!! I would never recommend someone work here! Poor management and so on!!!"
